I know how my blog is steady turning into a sermon page and I’ve had a lot of people approach me on this; so I felt the need to address it once and for all. Out of the many different people that pointed this out, the one that drew my attention the most was my friend that said: ‘Why must you always add God and Christianity to your post, you should learn to see things from other perspectives”… And here was my reply:
“For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard”- Acts 4:20
The author of life itself has given me the opportunity to see things ultimately from where he is standing and he has set the highest possible standard for me to aim for, I don’t see why I would seek answers or reasoning from less authentic source. I mean, a daughter should exhibit the characters of her dad and by the words that come out of her mouth(in my case, the words she writes), you are able to know her roots. I am not in anyway ashamed of my pops and I cannot help but showcase his awesomeness; I don’t know about you but this is the standard I live by and I won’t apologize for it 🙂
Now that we have that settled, shall we go to the business of the day 😀
From my last post, you know I am in a new environment and all. Adjusting hasn’t been the easiest thing especially when I am already in depth into my chemical engineering major. It felt like my life was moving so fast I couldn’t even catch up anymore and silly me was being ‘too busy’ for God. I was slowly falling off the edge and I needed to pause and return my gaze on Jesus.
I have learned a lot of things in the few months I have spent away from my home country and one of them is that :
“Life is a roll of raging storms, as a storm is ending, another is preparing to begin. It just never stops”
Living a life where there are no bumps and hurdles is living a lie. A lot of us pray to God to be protected from the trials and tribulations of life; which is what any average person would do. However, when you go deeper in the realm of the spirit, you realize that there’s no such thing as being completely free from danger. In actual fact, you are more in danger because you’re literally going into battle field.
You know how we pray to be rich and probably think getting rich would be the end of our problems? Well, ask the richest people for confirmation of this. So my point is, we are constantly on our toes; in any way you may want to relate this: academics, place of work, groups etc. There is never an end to the ‘struggle’
So now that I’m fully aware of the fact that wanting a storm free world is a fantasy that would remain as it is, I have decided to change the tune of my prayer.
Instead of asking God to calm the storm why not ask him to hold your hands through it?
I know some storms come so hard, they almost sweep you off your feet but think of how better you’ll be when you come out of it. You see how I used the word “when” and not “if”. I’ll tell you why:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze” Isaiah 43:2
So no matter how heavy the storm is, it won’t kill you; all you need do is activate that promise with your faith.
Trust me, it is a difficult thing to accept especially when the devil is constantly trying to convince you otherwise but remember we are joint heirs in the heavenly kingdom and royalty commands authority over everything.
Peace may be the absence of war but Divine peace is the ability to stay calm even in the midst of wars.
So join me as I pray for that divine peace that surpasses human understanding to go about my daily business.
And remember as children of God, we should learn not to ask for our burdens to be lifted but rather ask for broader shoulders to carry them
Have a lovely rest of the month
Grace and Peace.
